American Girl Fashion Show & Tea - Frequently Asked Questions

What is the American Girl Fashion Show?

This is a fun-filled event designed primarily for girls and women to enjoy together. The fashion show features historical and contemporary girl's clothing modeled by local children. Each girl carries a doll in a matching outfit. Guests are seated at reserved tables to enjoy light refreshments while they watch the show.

Our event is sponsored by the Palo Alto Auxiliary and all proceeds benefit patients at the Packard Hospital for Children at Stanford.

When are the shows?

The 2016 shows will be on Friday, November 11 at 1:30 and 4:30 PM and on Saturday, November 12 at 10:30 am, 1:30 & 4:30 PM.

Where are the shows?

All shows are held at Christ Episcopal Church, Los Altos at 1040 Border Road, Los Altos -- see Google map. From 280, exit at El Monte Avenue towards the Bay and continue to University Avenue. Turn onto University and follow the signs and balloons as University turns into Border Road.

How long are the shows?

Shows last about 1 ½ to 2 hours with one intermission.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Possibly but we may be sold out. Shows that are full are shown on the home page. All seats are reserved for specific tables.

How do I order tickets?

This year tickets are available through this website at AG_Tickets.htm. We will not be able to add or move guests after tickets are purchased. Please do not contact the church for tickets.

Who needs a ticket?

Tickets are needed for everyone attending the shows. Shows are suitable for children four or older and any strollers would need to be parked outside.

Are ticket costs tax deductible?

Yes, about $20 of the $35 ticket cost is tax deductible as all of the proceeds less our event costs are donated to the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.

What if I want to sit with a friend?

Please order your tickets at one time. We will not be able to add or move guests after tickets are purchased.

How many sit at a table?

Most of our tables seat 10 and a few seat 12. There is no room to add additional seats.

Where do I park?

There is ample parking in the upper lot at the church for our guests. We ask that model families and volunteer staff use the lower lot.

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes, the church is accessible. Please park in the upper lot. If help is needed, ask at the will call table.

Will food be provided?

Yes, our volunteers will be serving light refreshments and beverages. Because we are not a restaurant, substitutions are not available. However, no nuts will be served and you are welcome to bring your own items if your child has allergies.

What about the raffles?

We have two raffles. For the major "pink" raffle, you may buy tickets ahead by adding them to your order on the souvenir page. They are $2 each or 6 for $10. Tickets will also be available at the events. There are four large prizes which are awarded after the last show on Sunday.

We will also have a special raffle at each show with tickets just for those baskets. They will be awarded at the end of each show. Tickets are $1 each or 25 for $20.

What should we wear?

Most children wear party clothes. Most important is that they are comfortable as the show is quite long for smaller children.

Will there be merchandise for sale?

Yes, we sell souvenirs at the events. They are usually items that can only be bought at the shows. Please see the souvenir section of this website for photos and information about ordering Souvenirs and Raffle Tickets. Please remember that once we run out of an item, we cannot reorder it for you.

How do I know what size T-shirt to order?

According to the American Girl company:

  • X Small is 5-6
  • Small is 7-8
  • Medium is 10-12
  • Large is 14-16
  • X large is 18-20
